A car accident that involved three vehicles on April 12 in Texas left one man dead. According to the report, the crash took place at the State Highway 71 and Cottletown Road intersection in Bastrop County.
Police stated that a Honda Accord was in the process of turning north onto the highway from Cottletown Road when a Toyota 4Runner collided with the vehicle. The impact from the car collision caused the Honda to spin around and strike a Ford F-150 truck.
A 25-year-old male passenger in the Honda was killed instantly when the Toyota slammed into the Honda’s passenger side. The driver of the Honda and another passenger were transported to University Medical Center in Brackenridge for treatment of unknown injuries. It was reported that the Toyota and the Ford pickup truck were not injured in the incident. Potential factors for the cause of the accident were not reported, and it was not known if the authorities planned to file charges against either of the two drivers who were initially involved in the incident.
Fatal car accidents have a number of potential causes that may include drunk driving or reckless driving. Even though the exact cause of the crash was not known when news of the accident was released, if it is determined that one of the drivers caused the fatal crash, they could be held responsible for the death of the 25-year-old man.
The deceased man’s family may be eligible to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the liable driver. By filing this lawsuit, they may be able to recover compensation for any financial damages that they sustained, including funeral costs.
