A two-car accident in the Flint-Gresham area of Texas claimed the lives of two individuals and injured three others on March 4 around 6:17 p.m. The crash occurred on Old Jacksonville Highway when a truck being driven by a 30-year-old man going southbound crossed the centerline and collided head-on with an SUV traveling north and carrying four passengers.
The driver of the SUV, a 41-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene when ambulances arrived. The front-seat passenger, an 18-year-old man, was taken to a nearby hospital and died shortly after from the car collision injuries he suffered.
The other two passengers in the SUV, a 15-year-old girl and 17-year-old boy, and the driver of the truck were all taken to local hospitals for treatment of unknown injuries. The girl was reported to be in critical but stable condition three days after the incident. After ambulances transported the injured, crews cleared the debris and vehicle wreckage, and the entire road was closed.
Head-on collisions happen when a driver going one direction collides directly with a driver going in the opposite direction. A drift over the centerline often happens when a driver is drunk or otherwise impaired. Auto accidents like these can lead to death, serious injury and tremendous pain and suffering.
