A 41-year-old and a 23-year-old man were injured in a crash that took place on Nov. 10 at approximately 8 p.m. The accident took place at the intersection of State Route 62 and Walea Road in Orange. According to authorities, the 41-year-old man was driving his Chevy SUV southbound on State Route 62 when a passenger vehicle failed to obey a stop sign going west on Walea Road.
The man then swerved to avoid the vehicle, crossed the center line of traffic and collided with a Buick being driven by the 23-year-old man heading north on SR 62. Authorities say that the older man was taken to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas with severe bruising and broken ribs. The other man was taken to Baptist Orange Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
There was no information given as to the condition of the man in the SUV after he was taken to the hospital. Police say that the passenger vehicle fled the scene of the crash. Otherwise, authorities said that there was no other information about the crash other than it was still being investigated.
