This weekend not only marks the end of daylight savings time, but should also be a reminder to everyone that this weekend is a good time to replace your smoke detector batteries. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued its semi-annual reminder that safety should come first in the household and smoke alarm batteries must remain fresh in order to be most effective. Annually, it is estimated that there are over 2500 deaths and over 13,000 injuries reported in home fires each year.
